Hyderabad: Humanity died, In a shocking incident, a grieving mother was allegedly forced to stay out on the streets all night with the body of her 10-year-old son after her landlord refused to allow her to bring the body inside the house.
The incident took place on September 14 in Kukatpally, when the woman was forced to spend a night on the road with the dead body of her 10-year-old son, allegedly because the landlord didn’t let her in.
Claiming that her son died of suspected dengue fever, she told that the owner of the house did not allow her to bring the body inside.House owner Jagdish Gupta told that his daughter got married recently, it would be inauspicious to keep the body in the house. He showed no mercy even though it was raining heavily.
“The owner refused to allow to take my son’s body inside the house saying it is not even one year since he had performed his daughter’s marriage in the house. He asked me to take dead body anywhere else but not in his house,” the woman told reporters.
The neighbours, though, decided to help Eswaramma out. They arranged for tarpaulin covers and also brought a body box for the 10-year-old.
Condemning Jagdish’s inhuman act, they also collected donations for Suresh’s last rites.
Terming the incident as sad and shocking, child rights activist, Achoot Rao said that it is a severe violation of the child rights and asserted that she would file a case in the State Human Rights Commission.
