Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s chopper crash landed in Latur. CM Fadnavis and his team escaped unhurt and he tweeted, which stated that he and his team are absolutely safe.
In a shocking incident, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’s helicopter crash landed at Nilanga in Latur district on Thursday morning after it suffered some technical problem, but the senior BJP leader escaped from it without getting any injury.
“Our helicopter did meet with an accident in Latur but me and my team is absolutely safe and ok. Nothing to worry,” Fadnavis posted on Twitter after the incident.
Fadnavis had gone to Latur in Marathwada for the BJP’s ‘Shivar Samwad Sabha’, a statewide campaign to reach out to farmers. While returning from there, the chopper developed a technical fault and suffered substantial damage.
“I am safe. There was a minor accident involving the helicopter. People shouldn’t believe in rumours,” Fadnavis was quoted saying by the agency after the incident. “Nobody got hurt. My media advisor Ketan Pathak has suffered minor injuries. With the blessings of 11 crore people of Maharashtra, I am safe,” he added.
He also added that the pilot too had not been injured seriously. “This is a new helicopter. We will seek information from police on this incident,” the chief minister said.
The pilot said that the accident happened as the wind speed was high and there was high cable near the chopper and even though he tried to avoid, the helicopter touched it while coming down.
