England Beats Bangladesh By 8 Wickets

London: Joe Root scored a brilliant 133* off 129 balls, while skipper Eoin Morgan smashed an unbeaten 75 off 61 balls helped England successful run chase in Champions Trophy against Bangladesh winning by eight wickets in the opening match at The Kennigton Oval in London.

Tamim Iqbal scored the first century of the tournament and struck a brilliant 166-run partnership with Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored a solid 79, to take Bangladesh to 305/6.

In reply, England, set 306 for victory, finished on 308 for two with 16 balls remaining with Joe Root scoring an unbeaten 133. Alex Hales scored 95 while England captain Eoin Morgan hit 75 not out.
