Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been lodged in the Rohtak jail after being convicted of raping two females. The chief of Dera Sacha Sauda sect is a ‘sex addict’, claims doctors who examined him on Saturday at District Jail in Sunaria near Rohtak town in Haryana.
According to the doctors, the Dera chief is `feeling restless` because he is suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Notably, to prove himself as innocent the Dera Sacha Sauda chief had reportedly claimed that he was ‘impotent’.
“The Baba is, in fact, a sex addict. He has no access to physical pleasures in the jail which is the cause for his restlessness.
However, if the treatment is delayed, it can lead to a bigger problem,” said a doctor who was part of the team that examined Ram Rahim in the jail.
Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in prison — 10 years for each of the two rape cases, to be served consecutively not concurrently — by the CBI court that pronounced him guilty on August 28, 2017.
However, he was addicted to drugs as well. Some reports suggest that the Dera chief consumed alcohol till 1988. “He may not be drinking liquor now, but he regularly consumed energy drinks and sex tonics that were specially imported from Australia and other countries,” claimed Gurdas Singh Toor, a former Dera member.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim had requested the jail authorities to allow Honeypreet, his closest aide, to stay with him in the jail for meant to satiate physical needs.
Interestingly, he did not demand the presence of either a male attendant, his biological daughters, or even his wife. His only demand was that Honeypreet is allowed to stay with him as his attendant.
Gurdas Singh Toor, who appeared as a witness for the CBI, told that, “He is a liar as he was never impotent. His son was a few months old when he became a Dera chief in 1990. He is accused of raping his disciples. When people demanded his potency test, he retracted his 1990 statement and said he had physical relations with only his wife. He wanted to mislead the court. Why nobody has got his potency test done so far is another loophole,”
