Kerala: Actor Dileep, jailed in Kerala’s Kochi in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of an actress in February, had offered Rs. 3 crore to the kidnappers, the High Court was told today.
The prosecution told the court that he offered main accused Pulsar Suni Rs. 1.50 crore for the kidnapping and double the amount if he was caught by the police.
The 49-year-old actor was arrested on July 10 for alleged involvement in the conspiracy behind the kidnapping of the actress.
The actress, who had co-starred with Actor-Dileep, was forcefully restrained in her vehicle when she was travelling from Thrissur to Kochi, driven around for two hours and sexually assaulted by at least four men who recorded the act on a mobile phone before being dumped near actor-director Lal’s home.
The High Court is hearing the bail plea of Dileep for the third time. He was denied bail twice by a lower court.
The prosecution today got permission from the court to record popular singer, TV and film artiste Rimi Tomy’s statement before a magistrate.
Meanwhile, Dileep’s counsel told the court that they are prepared to satisfy any condition for the bail.
