Farmers Commit Suicide Outside CM Camp Office

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, Three members of a farmer family from Hyderabad’s Suryapet area attempted suicide in front of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s camp office-cum-residence in the city on Thursday.

The family is learnt to have been going through an acute financial crisis.

The trio has been identified as 40-year-old Venkateshwarlu, his 13-year-old daughter Navya and 18-year-old nephew Srinivas.

The incident took place around 4 pm in front of the camp office in Begumpet. The chief minister’s security personnel shifted all the three to the Gandhi hospital nearby.

The condition of the 13-year-old girl is reported critical and the other two are said to be stable but undergoing treatment.

It is indeed shocking that after the incident, local Punjagutta police tried to hush up the case. The Gandhi hospital, however, confirmed that it admitted patients after a suicide attempt.
