Two Youths Died In South Africa Car Accident
Hyderabad: In a road rage incident, Two youngsters from Telangana were killed in a horrific road accident in South Africa identified as Ankireddy Gopi Krishna from Ricca Bazar in Khammam district and Basireddy Raja Gopal Reddy from Hydernagar of Medchal district.
According to relatives of the deceased, Gopikrishna and Raja Gopal Reddy were residents of Johannesburg and had visited a temple on the occasion of Guru Purnima on Thursday. While they were returning to Johannesburg, a car driven rash by drunk locals at a speed of 200 kmph collided with their car head on. The car of the locals caught fire immediately after, and they burned to death inside.
Gopikrishna reportedly had no external injuries but died of internal injuries. After the crash, he got out of the car to ask after his friends, but soon collapsed out of breathlessness and Raja Gopal Reddy died of external injuries.
The two were travelling in the back seat of their car, while two other friends of theirs who were in the front seats suffered bone injuries but were safe.
Mr Bhumaiah, president of Telangana Association in South Africa is coordinating for airlifting of the bodies to Hyderabad, according to official sources.
The Telangana Government has urged the Indian High Commission in Pretoria to help send the bodies to Hyderabad. The bodies are expected to arrive in Hyderabad via Dubai on Sunday.
